Make It Happen

January 8th, 2016 by Dawn Hoezee, DCRC, Wellness Coach

“We’ll make it happen.”
This is how Dr. Dick Versendaal always finished any brainstorming and visioning conversation he and I would have.  He always said it with confidence.  He always spoke the words as he was standing up to leave to do his part to…”make it happen.”   I never once doubted these words.

Dr. Versendaal was a man of both dreams and action. He dreamed of ways to bring hope and healing into the lives of hurting people.  Then he worked to make it happen.  He was available to serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  He dreamed of ways in which he could inspire and motivate his chiropractic profession.  Then he worked to make it happen through continual studying, mentoring, coaching and lecturing.  To be with Dr. Versendaal for any period of time was an unforgettable experience.  His charisma, genius and wisdom poured out in colorful waves of energy and passion revealing his intuitive nature and heart that often left people speechless and wondering, “How did he know?”

Dr. Versendaal was recognized as a genius at understanding the synergy between the spine, organs, systems, and nutritional chemistry.   This wisdom developed over the past 50 years as he researched and refined the subtle-energy technique called Contact Reflex Analysis®.  CRA® uncovered the root cause(s) of any health issue; emotional, nutritional and/or structural and helped gain insight into the relationship of these three. Dr. Versendaal was also the genius behind the company, VerVita Products.  He developed the unique nutritional and essential oil formulas to simplify healing strategies based on his holistic philosophy of the body, mind and spirit.

In a recent training video Dr. Versendaal shared his heart and his knowledge, encouraging the chiropractors in the profession he loved.

“When a patient comes to you, they are sculpted by the universe.  They are sculpted by God.  They are sculpted in perfection.  And somehow, in the womb or outside of the womb they have falls, they have accidents, they have emotions and they come to you.  They’ve been chiseled and adjusted.  They’ve been treated and given pills and potions by other doctors and professions.  Just like the sculptors before Michelangelo [who unsuccessfully attempted to work on the flawed piece of marble that ultimately became the statue of David] you have patients come to you that others have put their hands on, trying to sculpt and realign, and somehow they were not successful.  So when they come to you, what are you going to do with them?  I’m an artist with my hands.  I’m an artist with my mind, with the philosophy and the science I learned at Palmer, the insight I received through practicing CRA and from the God’s gifts.  When I look at the human body I see…”

Dr. Versendaal saw a body created in perfection.  He dreamed wholeness and healing for every person in body, mind and spirit.  Then he worked tirelessly to make it happen.  On Feb 27, 2014, Dr. Versendaal died tragically in an automobile accident.  But his dreams and wise discoveries live on.  The CRA Wellness Association will continue his training and vision, his heart and philosophy as we roll out the plans created with him over the past six months.  To the chiropractic profession, I can hear him say, “What are you going to do today to…make it happen?”  In response, we invite you to join us as a member in carrying on his legacy through the Association.
